Ottawa’s Michael Amadio scored with 3:09 left in the third period to complete a comeback and give the Senators a 2–1 win over the Buffalo Sabres on Wednesday night.
The Sabres struck first when Peyton Krebs tipped in a shot at the 14-minute mark of the opening period, with Tage Thompson and Zach Benson assisting. Ottawa tied the score 11:33 into the second frame as Shane Pinto finished a setup from Tim Stützle and Fabian Zetterlund.
Amadio delivered the deciding goal on a three-on-two rush, putting Ottawa ahead late in the third. Samuel Ersson stopped 24 shots for the Senators, while Colten Ellis made 28 saves for Buffalo. The loss ended the Sabers’ three-game winning streak.
For Buffalo, Krebs’ first goal of the season was not enough to preserve the lead. Ottawa, meanwhile, turned a close game into a road win by finding the breakthrough in the final minutes.
Sabres will remain on home ice as they face off against the Columbus Blue Jackets at 7:00pm Friday night.
